Are you interested in improving your project management capabilities?  Whether or not you are a technology asset manager, the skills and perspectives of the project manager could spell the difference between success and failure.  This knowledge is applicable to virtually any career.  Ready to improve your marketability? We have an entire range of formal classroom programs that will enable you to earn CEUs, and PDUs as well as being approved for up to 30 recertification credit hours toward your PHR/SPHR/GPH program. Read on to discover how you can gain almost immediate personal and professional benefit from this unique program.

Alan Plastow, MAT, PMP, has been working with The University of Akron (Akron, Ohio) since Spring 2007 to develop and deliver a program in Project Management for the Real World. If you have an interest in taking project management methods out of the realm of complex theory and into the world of day-to-day applicability, then this professional development series is for you.

My theory behind this series design is simple: "I firmly believe that the vast majority of you are not building a Chunnel, Dubai Palms, a Denver Airport, or (lucky you) your own local version of Boston's Big Dig! Instead, you are managing those pesky projects that reality throws at every company of every size every day."

Am I wrong? (Let me know your thoughts.)

During Spring Semester of 2007, I introduced the first three of these customized sessions.

Course Number - 12511 - Core Project Management Methodologies

Course Number - 12509 - Enhancing Project Success

Course Number - 12510 - Project Management for Project Teams

Want to gain your Certificate in Project Management Excellence? Alan Plastow, MAT, PMP has developed and is delivering this unique program at The University of Akron. You'll receive approximately 35 hours of formal project management classroom instruction--using, among other resources, The Project Management Institute 's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

Individual course details are available on The University of Akron web site.

Consider this bonus behind the format and content of these courses: All courses in this Project Management Professional Development Program Overview have been designed so that they can be used to apply toward your "formal professional development" criteria as defined by PMI for CAPM, PMP ongoing and PDUs (Professional Development Units) as well as 3 CEUs. In addition, the UA Certificate in Project Management Excellence is approved for 30 recertification credit hours toward your PHR/SPHR/GPH program.
