Technology Asset Management: The Product Functionality Game Print E-mail

Do your agreements with suppliers clearly define the functionality that you expect the product to fulfill?  I can tell you right now: they don't.  In fact, if you read the agreement (and very few business technology consumers do) you will discover a clause that clearly states:
"Not warranted to meet customer requirements..."
And that, as they say, is just for starters. Every day, around the globe, business technology consumers legally bind themselves to licenses for software and related product or services, that virtually guarantee zero value. We do this through purchasing so-called shrink wrap products, or simply as a result of not paying attention to the license in hand.
The point is: You can't GET what you paid for because you never DEFINED what you wanted.
