When it comes to your current job, your career, even your place in the community, are you disposable? Maybe I should state this a different way: What makes you stand out from the crowd? Not merely the crowd around you right this minute, in your immediate vicinity but the global crowd? No matter what your age, position in life, nationality, or location on this planet, there are realities that you will need to face if--in the next few years--you are planning on maintaining the standard of living you currently enjoy.
There is an excellent "world reality" video available: Shift Happens , created by Karl Fisch, and modified by Scott McLeod - Globalization and The Information Age. It will astound me if this video doesn't change the way you perceive the world in which we live.
Do me a favor & watch it - it only lasts a little over 6 minutes. (Six minutes that I predict will radically change your perspective.) After you click on the link the video will pop up in a new window and on the left side of the screen. Be sure you have your sound on. After you have seen this, get back to me with your comments / observations. Considering the information provided, how can we - as individuals - ensure the continuation of our cultures, our personal security, our families, and our friends - without trampling on the needs of other members of our global community?
A more fearful question might be: When it comes to survival, will those "others" particularly care about those who are not of their cultures or positions in life?
